A Revival

Did a few cool things in school especially for Art modules. Feel so rejuvenated with a little 'getaway' from all the mandatory process of reading and writing. Above is the face masking process that all of us had to go through in order to get the mould of our faces. Fun process - we had a great time in class and suddently all the Nafa-ians and Lasalle-ians spirit in us comes to life.

This was how we all look like after our faces was plastered. The plaster have to be on for around 20mins - so we are all immobilized. As someone with a short attention span - 20mins was like a whole whopping 2 hours for me. Simply can't wait to get it off. Alot of mishaps happened. Some of us lost some of our eyebrows and eyelids because it was stuck to the plaster. but it was not very serious though- i'm just talking about one or two hairs..hee. But still it was painful to get off the plaster off our faces...but it was satisfying and amazing to see our faces molded on the plaster. the mould was then used to make a sculpture of our faces.

this was the outcome! my own handwork! The mould (from the plaster-making process) gives us the shape and proportion of our faces by pressing clay into it. The next step was for us to carve, add or minus clay to give our faces the three dimensional feel.

That's me feeling gratified and satisfied for all the effort put in. Spent a whole 3 hours to get the mask done. Can't wait to teach this to my future art students if there is an opportunity. So kids (whoever you may possibly be) get ready to have your faces plastered!!!!!
